One month

Today Payton is one month old! My how time flies. She has started to do better during the night. I think we are getting on somewhat of a schedule. Of course as soon as I say that, tonight will be a rough night. But the past few nights she has been consistant on the times that she wakes up for feedings. I feed her around 9:30 p.m. then rock her a little and put her down in her bed. She has been waking up at around 2:30 a.m. and then again at 6 a.m. I am not sure what I need to do to get her to sleep through the night yet, but I guess that will happen in time??

She really is a good baby. Some days are hard but it is worth every minute!!

Payton is 3 weeks and 2 days old. I am falling behind on my original plan. But this is Payton's growing chair and I will periodically take her picture in the chair so you can see how much bigger she gets!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY..... TO ME!!!

Today is my 27th birthday!! I know, I know, I am getting old!! My mom watched Payton for a couple hours while Geoff, Marla, and Parker took me to dinner. Payton is still too young to take her in public. We went to Gloria's on Greenville. It was really nice to sit and have a meal and not have to worry about Payton. It seems like every time we sit down for lunch or dinner it is time for Payton to eat. I know that is just the way it works out, so I have been missing quite a few meals. Not that I should complain, I think it is helping lose weight. Then after dinner we came back to pick up Payton and went back to Geoff and Marla's and they are keeping Payton tonight for me. I know some may say it is early for me to leave her with anyone, but if there is anyone that I trust the most it is my sister. So I am not worried about her, I know she will be taken care of. Hopefully she sleeps most of the night for them :).

My mom and Terry help me a lot with Payton through the night as well. But it is a little different leaving her with someone that is not in the same house as me. It was kind of weird coming home and not seeing her or hearing her little noises or cries.

When I was leaving Marla's, Parker followed me to the door and she started pointing back towards Payton saying Bah Bah Bah... I said it's ok I am leaving her here tonight but I promise I will be back for her!! Funny because my 20 month old (tomorrow) niece knows that I was forgetting something.

Our first walk...

Since the doctor released me to start exercising I figured why waste anytime. We met Marla and Parker at the park this morning and went our first walk.

And yes......... she is starting to look a lot like her daddy......

Little baby ducks... I had to take a picture of them

This is how she likes to sleep

She likes to lay on mommy's chest

This is how I lay her down after she sleeps on me... this lasts about 5 minutes.....

Postpartum Update

Today I went to my doctor for a checkup. My incision looks great. I have lost all 20 pounds I gained with Payton and I am 4 pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight!! I was so excited. My uterus is still the size of 4 month pregnant woman, so that means I should still lose some more!! I can start exercising lightly, and then in a couple weeks start doing more. I go back in 4 weeks to make sure I am still doing well. Also, I guess my blood pressure is going to continue being an issue. It was high at today's appointment, and she wants me to start taking it every other day to monitor it.

Payton update......

The past couple of nights have been rough. Payton does not like to be laid down. I also think she wants to sleep on her tummy. I know it will get better in time. She had a really bad tummy ache last night and screamed for about 5 hours. My mom has been helping me a lot, I really don't know what I would do without her.

A very rough day

Today is the day I have been dreading ever since Phil got home for his leave, the day he had to go back. I took Phil to the airport this morning and he is going back to finish the remainder of his tour. I think that before he came home I was just to the point where I accepted that all we had for communication is through phone and email. Then he came home, we had Payton, he has been by my side every step of the way since she has been born. (I have been spoiled the past 2 weeks) I knew that he was going to have to leave again, I just don't think I realized how hard it was going to be to tell him bye.... again.

Seeing him tell our 2 week old baby bye broke my heart. There really are no words to describe it. So I won't ramble on, I will just share these last few pictures that we got this morning before we left for the airport.
