Paisley @ 5 Months

Today my baby girl is 5 months old. I really can’t believe it, I say this each month but saying FIVE just sounds so old. And then next month is HALF a year!! Crazy. Really is a blink of an eye and then they grow more and more.

What is she up too??

Eating: She eats 5oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Probably eats about 30 ounces a day. Sometimes 35 oz.

Sleeping: Bedtime is at 7:30p and usually down by 8p and sleeps until anywhere between 3;4;5;6 just depends on the day I guess. And I feed her and put her back down and she sleeps until 7:30-8a  I do rock her to sleep still.

Diapers: Size 2 Pampers

Eczema: She has eczema and we started using steroid cream this month and it has really cleared it up.

Naptime: She fights naps most day. And the longest she sleeps is usually 20-30 minutes. There are have been a handful of times that she has slept an hour. Which would be amazing if she would do that daily. Maybe one day. I rock her to sleep. If she is fighting me, I lay her down and let her cry for 5-10 min then I go back in and try again and I repeat that until she gives up and lets me put her to sleep.

Pacifier: She takes her pacifier when she is fussy and when she is going to sleep.

Spoiled: YES, she is spoiled. She cries when I walk out of the room, or am on the floor playing and have to get up for something. If I am not right by her she cries. And most times when other people hold her she cries when she sees me or hears my voice.

Clothes: wearing 6months clothes. some are getting too snug on her. I have some of Payton’s old clothes and those seem to run small and some of those at 9mo.

Hair: This month she has really started getting more hair.

Playing: lays under her play mat, but usually only if I am sitting there next to her. If I am not in sight, she usually cries. She grabs all of her toys. Loves to look at toys that sing and have lights. Everything goes straight to her mouth as soon as she grabs it. If anything is in front of her she puts both hands out and wants you to give to her.

Car ride: She is getting better in the car. Still has her moments, as do all babies I suppose. She really likes it when Payton is back there with her. I find that if Payton isn’t in the car she really gets the crying going faster.

Smiling & Cooing: Loves to smile and laugh. She talks and says ahhhh…. and makes all those sweet baby sounds!

Teething: I definitely think she is teething. She is drooling everywhere. And most times when she is chewing on something she starts crying. I guess because it hurts some, not too sure. I put orajel on her at bedtime. Not sure if it really helps, but this way I know I have given her something. Since its not ideal to give them Tylenol everyday. I will save this for really bad days :) I think I can feel something coming in on top, but again I am not certain.

Bath time: She enjoys bath time. She seems to last longer in the bath and kick and splash water around if big sister is in there with her.

Sitting up: She likes to sit up, but she can’t do it by herself. But, if I sit her in her chair or just in front of me or even on the boppy… she pulls herself forward.

Mobility: She can roll over from her back to her stomach, but her arm usually gets stuck so she just goes back to her back. She can roll all over the place by rolling to one side then the other and then ends up in a total different direction.

Sisters: She loves her big sister. Payton is really good with her. I figure I should write this down so one day when they read this they will remember how much they really did love each other HA. Payton makes her laugh and is always wanting to hold her. She is my BIGGEST helper. Really, once she starts school it will be an adjustment of course, but really because she helps me so much daily.

Playing in the Garage – Bikes and Hula Hoops

On Sunday, we just hung out in the garage for a good while and Payton rode her bikes and then did her hula hoop. It was her first day and she is doing great. She can do it for a long period of time. But, miss thing likes to shake her hips so I really didn’t see her not “getting” it. :)

Happy Memorial Day

Payton and Paisley in the Bath

Last week I let the girls take a bath together. Paisley likes it when big sister is in there with her. Bath time seems to last a little longer this way. Which sometimes I need that to pass time until bedtime. :)

Parker's Kindergarten Graduation

Last week we went to watch Parker's Kindergarten graduation. So proud of my first born niece. I didn't get many pictures because I had to hold Paisley during. But, I got one before we left and then one of Parker and Payton. They read a little about each child as they introduced them. And parker said Payton was her hero. So sweet. And when Payton heard that, she looked at my mom and said "what did she say?" Lol she knew but wanted to make sure she heard correctly.
Payton was so excited to see Parker's school and her friends.

Paisley's First Time in the Pool

Yesterday we went to our friends Nina and Justin's house. They bought a house not too far from us and it has a pool. It was a spur of the moment thing and so we just brought Payton and Phil's suit to swim. But, once we were there for a bit Nina and I decided to let the babies get in for the first time. Natalie is only two months younger so she has all the girls clothes, swim suits, and stuff to share with Paisley. So we used Natalie's swimsuit. Paisley liked it. They heated the hot tub some so it wouldn't be too cold. Otherwise, we wouldn't have put them in just yet. And I won't be getting to take Paisley to a public pool anytime soon, so its a treat that our friends have a pool.
