Carrots

This morning I gave Payton carrots for the first time.

It was almost gone so I let her try and grab and do whatever she wanted. :) It was cute!

Do you think she likes carrots?

6 month Birthday

Payton is 6 months old today. I know i say this every month, but really where does the time go? Here pretty soon I will be planning her 1st birthday party. It really just seems like yesterday I was pregnant and waiting for her to be born. She is the sweetest little baby. Phil and I are truly blessed to have a healthy baby girl!! We couldn't ask for anything more!

What is Payton up to?

Pulling mommy's hair... Payton has really enjoyed pulling my hair while she is eating. It's not just one pull, it is multiple pulls in a matter of seconds. It doesn't feel too hot! At first it was cute and I laughed, but now I am starting to have to make her stop. My hair is falling out on its own as it is, I don't need the help of my 6 month old, ha.

Payton cries when I walk out of the room and stops when she sees me again. Does this mean she is spoiled? If I have her sitting in her bouncy seat in the kitchen while I am doing things, she follows me everywhere I go. It is really sweet.

She loves putting everything in her mouth, and I mean everything. If you put something in her hand then it goes straight to the mouth.

When she is laying under her activity gym (not sure the correct terminology for that) she is grabbing all of the interesting things hanging on there, whereas before she would just look at them and not act too interested.

She LOVES LOVES LOVES watching Word World. As soon as she hears the intro song she starts smiling and moving her arms all around.

Eating:

I have not been giving her the baby food anymore. I plan to start it again within the next week. I just didn't feel like she was really ready for all of that. I did try quite a few different ones and really it seemed like she liked the green beans and peas the best. So I think I will start with that again.

She is still eating 5 oz every 3 hours, she has been doing this since she was 3 weeks old. I wonder when I should raise the ounces? She is acting satisfied with 5 as of now. At the night before bed I give her 6 oz of water with 5 oz of formula. Not that it really helps, its just a mind thing with me that it helps her sleep longer.

Sleeping:

All I can say about sleeping is there are good days and bad days, more bad than good!! I am hoping it gets better soon!! I should have started the sleep training WAY earlier than I did, but that's ok. I did stop swaddling her, she has done well. We just bought some warmer sleepers since it has been cold at the night.

She fights naps daily, hardly ever takes one. Once in a blue moon does she get a good nap in.

Teeth:

She has a tooth coming in on the bottom. I can feel it when I put my finger in there!!

Here are Payton's 6 month photos that my sister and Geoff took this past weekend. They did such a great job and spent so much time taking all of our pictures!!

Our morning at Granny's

This morning Payton, Parker, and I got an early start and headed down to my Granny's house. The girls were so good. They both slept on the way down and on the way home! We had a really good time visiting with Granny.

Payton sitting in the highchair my papaw made.

Parker playing with the fly swatter...

I think this is Parker's new thing... "Stop it Payton stop it" Payton kept throwing her toys on the floor.

Parker eating her mac and cheese Granny made, she kept saying "yummy, yummy, yummy" And if I must say so myself it was quiet delicious.

Parker being a little toot and wouldn't look at me, making Granny laugh!!

Trying to stay quiet...

Today I kept my niece Parker. She had gotten up earlier than usual today since Geoff had to be at work early, so I figured I would try and lay her down early for nap. I thought that I could plan it where I could lay Payton down and let her cry and then by the time I laid Parker down Payton would "maybe" be asleep. (Of course I was dreaming.)

Anyways, I went ahead and laid them both down at the same time, thinking I could get a nap in. (I was wrong AGAIN) Payton immediately starts to cry when I lay her down, as usual. Parker usually never gives me a hard time when I put her down for nap. I always just tell her she has to put Lovey nite nite and sometimes she talks to Lovey and sometimes I never hear a peep out of her.

Well- today Payton was screaming so Parker starts yelling "Payton, STOP IT, STOP IT, Payton." So I let this go on for about 10 minutes and then I figured I better go get Payton so that Parker could get a nap.

As you know, my child fights naps daily. Even though I know she is exhausted she won't go to sleep. So I decided to take her outside and let her swing since she LOVED the swing at the park the other day. It must have something to do with being outside because if I put her in this swing inside the house she starts crying.

But as you can see... she loved this too!!! (Sorry I know there are a lot of pictures!!)

Parker is still sleeping... and Payton has still not given it up!!! I think I will try again now!!
