Pre-Kindergarten Date with Payton

A couple of weeks before school started Phil and I took Payton on a date with just her. She got to pick where we went and she chose Pizza Inn, American Girl, and Sno cone place.

We took some selfies before getting started :)

Decorating the Christmas Tree 2013

This past Sunday we got all the Christmas decor down and we decorated our tree. We plan to decorate outside this weekend. It was way too cold to do Sunday, plus we didn’t have time.

Payton was really excited this year. She was most excited to get all of her her “Christmas toys” out! She told me all week long she wanted to play with her Jesus and Mary set. I am glad that is the one thing she remembers from all of her toys. Made me smile.

We bought Payton a tree for her room last year after Christmas. She was excited about that too!

Usually I put the tree together and me and Payton decorate. But, this year Phil had to put the whole tree together. I am pretty uncomfortable and hard to get up and down being this big pregnant.

Payton enjoyed putting the ornaments on the tree this year. Also, each day since we have put up the tree I was thinking the tree looks different and then noticing different holes where I need more ornaments. (Which I had not noticed before). Then I realized Payton moves them throughout the day. She told me she just moves them where they need to be. O-well I do not care, I know one day she won’t want to help me with the tree anymore when she gets older, so if she wants to move the ornaments she can.

(We do have our heater on, this kid just loves wearing a jacket.)

I put the tree in a different place this year. I LOVE sitting in my recliner and staring at the tree. As soon as we wake up in the mornings Payton plugs the tree in on her own. And we leave it on until bedtime.

I love Christmas time. This year has been hard to get in the spirit because I have some other things on my mind… like having a baby. :) But, I enjoy seeing Payton’s face and how excited she gets about it all!

Gaylord ICE “The Nutcracker”

This past Saturday we took Payton to the Gaylord to see the ICE. This year it was based on “The Nutcracker” She really enjoyed it this year. I think she is at a good age to “get it” more this year.

Before we left I had Phil take my picture. I usually always take them myself in the mirror because usually on the weekends if I shower and actually get ready we are usually on the run and I forget.

(I have 6 weeks from today left!!) I know it is going to fly by!!!

Ok, now onto the point of the post!! :)

We went to Gingy’s Gingerbread house and she picked out the Christmas tree to make. I kind of wished we had done the gingerbread house but that’s ok because we usually do one at home anyway. :)

Payton was scared and started to cry. Therefore, I had to take a picture with him/her??

Trying not to smile in this one.. but she knew she shouldn’t have gotten scared.

And of course she got to pick something out in the store.

We had a good time. This is probably one of the last big outings we will have as a family of 3. Making great memories! I love my family!
