Snow/Ice from last week

Last week we had another day of snow and ice hit. Thank goodness it wasn’t as bad as the week before!!! We didn’t stay out too long, but had to take a few pictures of course!!!

Snow Day 2011

Well the snow made it here today! Well I guess maybe last night, since it was all here when we woke up this morning! This weather is not really fun for me. I guess if I was a kid in school or if I had to work then I would maybe like it better. But, I don’t like being cooped up in the house for 4 days straight and not be able to get out of the house! I know a certain 1 and half year old who is getting tired of being stuck in the house too!!

Just craziness to me!!!

 

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…. It has never snowed this much in my whole 28 years of life than it has it Payton’s almost 2 years of life!!!

And my husband….. Well going against what I said.. Ventured out and went to work!!

 

He said he was so cold and that his feet were so wet, he couldn’t feel his toes!!

Before naptime I took Payton out to walk in the snow for a few minutes!

Her feet were buried!!!!

I was standing behind her, so I only caught a glimpse of this.. She grabbed the snow and put it to her mouth.. But it got in her eye.. and she started screaming “EYE, EYE, FACE, FACE”

This is seriously CRAZINESS!!!!

I will be glad when this weather is cleared up!! I hear we may have some more coming next week!!

We did get out and go eat at Snuffer’s tonight. Of course, I was the annoying passenger in the car. Sorry, I freak out. Ya’ll know this. And then, when we were leaving Snuffer’s we got stuck at a light over the Interstate. We got stuck, and took a minute or two to get going.. and kind of fish tailing (I guess that’s what it is called). Then I looked over the Interstate to see a vehicle rolled over. My heart was beating fast. I just wanted to get home safely, and God Willing we did!! So word of advice.. if you don’t have to get out in this mess then don’t!!!

Crazy weather in TEXAS

Yesterday the weather here was horrible. It rained, sleeted, hailed, thunder stormed all through the night Monday night (Tuesday early morning). When we woke up the roads were iced over.

I still had the girls yesterday. Geoff and Marla both had to go to work. Phil got up and drove in to work, only to find that they closed and he headed back home in the mess. So we were happy that he got to spend the day with us!!

Parker was dying to go outside and play. I think she thought since it was white outside that it was SNOW and that she would have fun playing in it. We kept telling her, it is SO cold outside so we can’t go out there. Well after begging all day, Uncle Phil took her and Payton out there for a few minutes.

Payton kept saying “Dayye it’s COLD”

 

Parker did slide and fall at some point, but I had already gone back inside!

And not to mention….. We now have to get a new fence. We had discussed doing this and my dad had already gotten an estimate and everything. But, we were thinking we could hold off for a bit longer… Well this weather made up our mind for us!!

So looks like my dad and Phil will be building a new fence within the next month!!

SNOW!!!

I think it has snowed more times in Payton’s 20 months of life than my whole 28 years of life! Not sure if that is a true fact, but sure seems like it!!

She loved wiping the snow off EVERYTHING!! She would do it, then laugh!

 

She was thinking about trying it… and I think she thought she wasn’t supposed too..

I kept telling her to “take a bite”

Finally… she did!

Enjoyed playing out in the snow for a bit! But, hope the roads aren’t too bad tomorrow for Phil and anyone else who HAS to drive to work!!
