Trip to Mcdonald’s

Yesterday I had a few errands to run in Rowlett/Garland. Well it got to be lunch time and Payton started to get fussy so I figured why not stop and let her eat at Mcdonald’s for the very first time!!
This is how it went……….
  • Walk in – I always try to keep my eye out for the highchair especially when I am by myself because I am carrying a 25lb + baby, her bag, her highchair cover. I don’t see one.
  • Then, I walk up and order. I ask the man “where are the highchairs?” He replies… “Oh they are in the play land.” I am thinking “the play land” I guess I don’t remember this from when I was a child. And I clearly never go IN a Mcdonald’s .
  • They give me my tray. Which my drink is not filled up, I am thinking to myself.. how am I going to carry all of this plus fill my drink cup?? (Those of you who know me… know I am sweating and stressing at this point).
  • Then- a Mcdonald’s employee asks me “Do I need help” I reply with “YES please!!!”
  • So she helps me to the “play land” area (which mind you is in a different room from where you get your drink, ketchup, etc.) She gets me a highchair. SO yes this lady has helped me tremendously.
  • I am not going to leave my 1 yr old sitting alone in the “play land” room while I go get my drink and ketchup. (which I thought they would have packets… boy was I wrong) Would Payton have been fine sitting in there alone?? Probably,  but I wasn’t going to take any chances.
  • So I get Payton back out of the highchair; Leave our food unattended. Go get my drink, looking for the ketchup packets…. Nowhere to be found. Then, I see that there is a pump and you have to fill the small little cups with ketchup. Let me just tell you- this is very hard to do while holding your child and your drink. There was nowhere to put down my drink. The counter was like bars- so it was holey.
  • Next, here comes a lady with a name tag on which I can’t see what it says. She walks up and introduces herself as so-n-so with Avon… “here let me help you” As appreciative as I was for her to help me… I knew she must have wanted something. She gets me the ketchup and brings it to our table.
  • Then, I am trying to get Payton her food and ketchup situated…. and this lady wants to try and sell me Avon. Get my name and phone number. Normally I would say no thank you… but this sweet lady has just helped me so what am I supposed to do???
  • So after all of that… we enjoy our lunch.
  • Payton LOVES watching all the kids play and run around. She kept screaming right along with all the kids in there.
  • The whole time we were eating I was debating on whether I would let her play.
    • #1 it is really dirty in there
    • #2 there isn’t much for her to do
    • #3 they were bigger kids than her and I didn’t want her to get hurt
  • But, I decided “Hey, why not. Maybe she will just run around and burn some energy”
  • Well- she wanted to do everything all the kids were doing. And she would climb up to the entrance area to play.. but that is about as far as she went. And yes, kids were shoving her down and it was really ticking me off.
  • But, she had a GREAT time. And actually through the HUGEST fit ever when we left!!! She was making it very hard for me to carry her out to the car….. AND VERY hard to place her in her car seat!!!!
I snapped some pictures with my phone. I didn’t have my camera with me because none of this was planned. I am glad we went. A great experience and a great story to tell Payton one day!!!

Some pool fun

Saturday I went and got Parker and let her and Payton play in the little pool in our backyard. This is much easier than going to the big pool Because as I mentioned before Payton thinks she can go and do whatever in the water… and she can’t… not yet!!!!

Payton- 14 months

Today our little girl is 14 months old!!! I tear up just when I type that! She is growing too fast!!

What is our little lady up too? Oh so much……….

She is walking everywhere!! Crawling really isn’t much of an option anymore.

Talking so much. She says “Mommy” all the time. Oh it melts my heart every time I hear her say it.

She loves her Daddy. She says “DaDaDa” when he walks in the room.

She says lots of things that sound like “something” and we like to think that is really what she is saying.. maybe she isn’t but she is very smart! :)

When Payton cries… her cry is SO sad. Sometimes it makes me laugh because most of the time there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with her. But she got her feelings hurt in some way.

She LOVES her baby. She pretty much takes her everywhere she goes. She sleeps with her too.

Her favorite foods……….

    • Cheese
    • Pizza
    • Chicken nuggets with ketchup
    • French fries
    • Red/green grapes
    • Yo baby yogurt (vanilla/banana)
    • Bananas
    • Mandarin oranges
    • Gerber yogurt melts (loves these)
    • Strawberries
    • Waffles/Pancakes
    • Ham

Her favorite things to do these days……

    • Play with her cousin Parker. These girls crack me up. They have so much fun together.
    • Go to the pool.
    • Push her stroller around the house with her baby in it.
    • She enjoys bath time.

Things she doesn’t like these days…..

    • Doesn’t like to be in the car for long periods of times.
    • Doesn’t like milk in a sippy cup.
    • Doesn’t like the vacuum cleaner

Throws a fit when……

    • You are trying to put her in her car seat (Not always… but a lot of the time)
    • Anytime you are doing something she doesn’t want you to do… hmmm which happens often :)
    • When you change her diaper.
    • When you put her night clothes on her. She knows it is bedtime.
    • When she is VERY tired.

How is her sleeping???

    • She goes to bed at about 7 p.m.
    • Wakes up anywhere from 6-7:30 a.m.
    • Takes anywhere from an hour to three hour nap.
    • When I put her down for bedtime she takes a bottle and then I lay her in her bed awake.
    • Naptime- no bottle. I lay her down and she has been going to sleep. Sometimes we are out and about and she falls asleep in the car, if this happens then I go put her in her crib and she stays asleep.

Bottles……………….

    • Yes she is still on the bottle. I guess I can say I have “tried” to take it away… but really I haven’t. She usually only has 2 a day… sometimes 3. I will be working on this soon!! I hope!! She will not take milk in a sippy cup. She just throws it. She will only drink water (by the way she LOVES water) out of her cup!! Any advice on getting rid of the bottle?? I was hoping to have it gone before her 15 month appointment. But doesn’t look like that will happen!!

Payton Ann you are little Miss Independent. I wonder who you get this from?? :) You love to walk around and follow us everywhere we go. You love to go stand at the fridge and say”uhh uhh” so that I will open it and let you pick what you want! You love to feed yourself, very rarely can we feed you anything. I love you so much and I can’t believe you are growing up so fast. You do something new each day, or so it seems!! You bring so much joy and laughter to all of our lives!

On Saturday I went and attempted to take pictures outside at the park. But, Payton had different plans.  :)  (Sorry the pics are a little blurry, I didn’t realize my lens was so dirty)

She isn’t too sure of walking on concrete yet. She doesn’t like to wear shoes, so that is part of the problem. This may have been what starter her to be upset & not want to take pics.

A little visitor

I looked out the back door this morning and saw this little guy!!! We don’t have a garden or anything and I “thought” maybe he was just passing through……

Picture from this morning…..

We didn’t go out back all day. He ran this morning when I opened the door. But, tonight I went out there and he just hung out under this tree.  I actually took both pictures through the window.

Well- I think he found a new home.

Picture from tonight…..

She can do it ALL by herself!!

This morning I tried feeding Payton her yogurt. She wasn’t having that… she wanted the spoon. So I said hey why not let her do it. If it makes her happy then I don’t care!!!
Sorry there are a lot because they are just too cute!!!

Our Tues-DAY

Yesterday Payton was extra fussy! She was extremely clingy to me (which really is everyday). I decided to take her to the community pool in Marla’s neighborhood yesterday morning. She loves to go swimming and to be outside. Well- we were only there 20 minutes and she started throwing a fit. Usually I can get her to stop crying pretty quickly, but not this time. She is walking everywhere now. So, in the pool there is a kiddie area and she can walk… well she thinks she can walk ANYWHERE… even down the steps into the big pool area… well she CAN’T!!! She didn’t like for me to not let her do this. So, we left. She was asleep before we got halfway down 205. After she woke up we ate lunch. Well- she ate played and I was making enchiladas for dinner…..

This is why I don’t like to give her plates…..

DSC_0710

She threw her lunch on the floor. So while I was cleaning the above mess up… I left the fridge open because I thought it would entertain her for a few moments… And no worries… it did…..

DSC_0701 DSC_0702 DSC_0703 DSC_0704 DSC_0705 DSC_0706 DSC_0707 DSC_0708 DSC_0709

Grapes are her favorite… I guess she didn’t want to eat them off her lunch plate just straight from the fridge!! Hey, maybe they taste better that way!!! HA

Father’s Day 2010

For Father’s Day Payton made this for her daddy. The footprint on the right… she was getting mad and smashed her foot in the cement. I love it… makes it more special!!

We also made him this book of the past year. Tried to put all the pictures of Payton and Phil in the book. And some of her monthly pictures!
