Today our little girl is 8 weeks old. I hardly can believe it. Even though some days seem to last forever, time really has flown by. Payton has been sleeping better during the night. She is still not sleeping through the entire night, but I can tell that she is at least progressing. The longest she has gone without being fed is 7 hours. The longest she has actually slept is around 5 hours. She usually goes right back to sleep after her feedings through the night. Her crying spells have gotten a lot better. On a good day I can put her in her swing and she might put herself to sleep for a little while. On a bad day I usually spend my entire day holding her and get nothing done.
She has now started trying to suck her thumb. Although it is very cute to watch her try to figure out how to get her thumb in her mouth, it is not something I want her doing. I try to put the pacifier in her mouth with she does this.
Payton has three different cries. One cry is her "fake" cry. Another cry is when you have just made her so angry she can't stop crying. And the last cry is when she cries as though someone is hurting her (this happens when she is constipated, (TMI?) my poor baby).
Payton doesn't really like car rides. This is why I hardly go anywhere. It seems like most baby's like it in the car and fall right to sleep once you start driving. But my child is not like most baby's. When she was first born and in her "sleeping" all the time phase then yes she would sleep in the car. But now that she is "growing up" she does not like to be in the car seat, she would rather you hold her.
She is still eating 5 oz every 3 to 4 hours. Of course during the night it may be longer. Her spitting up has gotten so much better. It still happens, just doesn't seem to be as often as before.
She is definitely a mommas girl right now, but I am cherishing it while I can because I know once daddy gets home that may change :).
Smiling in her growing chair :)

Cute little outfit with a bow in her hair :)
