Fun Day with Friends

Payton and I went swimming with Hunter and Kristina yesterday. Her father in law has a beautiful home and pool. So, it was nice to have the whole thing to ourselves! Thanks again, Kristina!!

Happy 4th of July

I didn’t get a good picture of Payton this year. But, I couldn’t not post anything.

And as you can tell I didn’t do good on an outfit this year. I will try to do better next year.

13 Weeks 3 Days

Today I went to the Dr. I didn't have a sonogram, they just listened to the heartbeat on the Doppler. The HR was in the 160's. I know it is an old wives tale that the higher the HR it means it is a girl. I don't really believe in that, but you can't help but wonder. :) I know that I have guessed BOY for my guess, but I will say so that it is notated that I feel like it may be a girl. There is a 50/50 chance, right? HA

Anyhow, I heard that sweet heartbeat and it's so amazing that there is another heartbeat inside me. Such a miracle. It was moving around quite a bit because we could hear it on the Doppler as well. And my Dr. made the comment several times that he/she was very active moving around. Here is a belly picture of me today. I feel like it looks bigger in person. I mean I took this picture with my phone and I didn't change the picture or anything... but when I look in the mirror I feel bigger.

Payton's Glasses

We finally got Payton's glasses in last Thursday. At first, I don't think she was too excited about them. But, it didn't take long and she is used to them now. They get really dirty with her sticky fingers touching them all day. She tells me when we need to clean them.  But, she looks beautiful in them. :)

1st Trimester

As my first trimester is almost coming to an end, I wanted to note a few things about all of these weeks that I don't want to forget.

 - I started feeling nauseous at around 6 weeks I believe it was. I tried eating every couple of hours to avoid feeling this way. I got the most nauseated at around 7-8 pm each night. I felt the need to throw up many times, yet have managed to only do so a handful of times. And most times I just go and gag a few times and then lay down and that helps me feel better. If I over did it, or we had a really long day... that is when I felt sick and felt the worst.

- I still enjoy all the same foods. I wouldn't really say I have any special cravings. I love food. :) - I have been very tired. I usually need to "rest" my eyes at some point through the day. Usually after lunch sometime. Payton sometimes let's me, other times not so much. And right after putting Payton to bed I go straight to our bed and lay down. I watch TV and usually try to stay awake until past the news.

 - I sleep with 3 pillows. It stopped being comfortable to sleep on my tummy a few weeks back. I think it was at about 9 weeks to be exact. I usually have one on each side of me and then one under my head. I try to sleep on my side but then I end up on my back. ( I know Phil loves all the pillows in our bed :) HA)

 - Mood swings - I will admit I have had a few of these. I can tell on some days it is way worse than others. I try to warn Phil. But, sometimes it just happens before I can :)

 - I have gained about 5 pounds thus far. I am showing much quicker this go round than I did with Payton. I may gain more this time even though my Dr. doesn't want me too. I had not gained 5lbs when I was this far with Payton. I have been slacking a little bit on my treadmill. But, got back on today. I have to motivate myself. I'm assuming I will get a little more energy over the next week or two. I can already tell that I am.

 - I feel extremely blessed to be pregnant. I know I have said it before but I will say it a million times, TRULY SO BLESSED. I thank God every day for allowing me to be Payton's mommy and for letting me carrying this little miracle and one day be a mommy to him or her.

Here is a picture of me last week at 12 weeks. Not the greatest , but hey that's ok!!

Eye Dr. Visit

We went for Payton's eye doctor appointment on Wednesday. She has failed her vision test at her last couple of Well visits so we went ahead and went back for another look. She is a little nearsighted in her right eye and a tad stigmatism. I don't understand all the eye terms completely, but basically she tries to focus a little too hard on her right eye. Which means she would eventually only depend on her left eye and then the right eye would become a lazy eye. So, we ordered glasses. He doesn't feel like this will be something long term, but it will help build the strength that she needs in her right eye. We go back in 3 months to see if it has helped.

Waiting to see the Dr.
After her eyes were dilated. She didn't wear these but for two seconds, but she thought it was funny.
Testing her eyes
Tried on a few pair, her eyes were dilated so she couldn't see very well and was annoyed trying on all the glasses. She was ready to go home, as was I.
These are the glasses we ended up ordering. She wanted purple of course. I hope I went with the right ones, kind of a lot to take in. And it stressed me out. I know if this is all that is wrong with my child, then I am beyond blessed. It could be worse, I just of course never thought my 4 year old would need glasses. But, I know she will be fine.

Pregnant

I guess I will start from the beginning. It may be boring to some, but I was looking back on blogs I posted when I was pregnant with Payton and I am now so grateful I have them to look back. You do forget things without meaning to or wanting too. :)

I have struggled with infertility for over 3 years. I have seen 2 different fertility Dr.’s. I have had a total of 4 IUI’s. I have done lots of injectable medications, which means stuck myself in the stomach many many times. Both Dr'.’s at two different practices both told me that I would NOT be able to get pregnant on my own. I had my last IUI in January 2013. At that point, we stopped because #1 we were broke #2 they said that I would need to do IVF which is $10,000. I had my yearly scheduled for February. I talked with my OBGYN and she said let’s try Clomid again (which she gave me 3 years ago before I ever saw a fertility specialist) sometimes less is more. So, I said ok. She told me to start it March once I got my cycle. So, I did. I of course did not get pregnant. I was just down and out and told Phil I am NOT taking clomid this month (meaning April) because I emotionally couldn’t handle it. I literally told God “Ok, I trust you Lord. I know that it’s in Your timing. I give it all to You” I decided that I was not going to worry about it anymore, which is way easier said than done by the way. And of course was it in the back of my mind?? Yeah. But, I didn’t stress with it, I had no idea if I ovulated in April. It had gotten to be like 38 days into my cycle. But, again… I really didn’t think I ovulated and I was OVER IT. So, I did not plan on taking a test. My sister tells me I need to go buy a test. I am like no, I do not want to waste my money.

(oh, and Marla also told me “Not to be rude, but you have been really moody and tired the past few days” Which I had, but I thought I was just tired from the Bachelorette party I had been to that past Saturday.

Well, that same day (May 7th) I took Lizzy home and I mentioned to Emily that Marla told me I should test but that I didn’t want too. And she said “well I have a few tests and I do not need them, do you want them” I said SURE. So, I took them home without knowing if I would actually take one because I truly did not want to and it said NOT PREGNANT.

Anyhow, woke up Wednesday May 8th and my bladder was full so I thought I guess I will take a test. I peed on the test, sat it down, went to wash my hands, walked back over and looked down and realized it wasn’t blinking anymore and I was like WHAT, so I turned on the light so I could see better and sure enough it said……….

IMAG0513

I immediately start to FREAK out, I was bawling and couldn’t breathe. I told God, “if this is a joke, it isn’t funny” I have been so disappointed so many times with tests, I just thought this isn’t so.

I talked to Phil and told him I was going to call the Dr. and go have blood work.

But, before I left I peed on another test within less than an hour and again…

IMAG0514

So, I went in and had HCG test and progesterone test done. I had to wait for results until Thursday afternoon. Longest 24hrs of my life. But, on the way home from blood work, I stopped and bought first response test.. and again…

 IMAG0517

So, here we have these 3 test that all say pregnant, but I am still in disbelief.

IMAG0519

I got a call on Thursday afternoon and the nurse tells me that I am probably 4-5 weeks along and everything looked normal. I had to go repeat the test on Friday then wait till Monday for those results. Just to make sure my numbers had doubled.

So, that weekend was super long… got a call on that Monday and my Dr. said my numbers had doubled and it still looked good. RELIEF.

We had our first appointment on May 21st and we saw and heard the heartbeat. We took Payton with us so that she could see.

This isn’t that great of a sono picture. I was kind of disappointed, but yet so glad we saw and heard the heartbeat.

IMAG0608

I went back to the Dr. for another sono on June 6th and looks much more like a baby!!! It actually waived its hand at me. SUCH A MIRACLE. God is SO good.

IMAG0621

Next appt, I go back July 3rd. But, won’t get a sono just hear the heartbeat with the Doppler.

We are so excited and so blessed to be pregnant. We pray for a healthy baby!! :)

Payton is…….

DSC_0222

We are so blessed and excited to announce that we have baby #2 on the way. God is so good, and without him this wouldn’t be possible. I am almost 10 weeks along and my due date is January 6, 2014. However, I will be having the baby at the end of December 2013. (Unless, it comes on it’s own of course)

I will do a separate blog post on how I found out, 1st and 2nd appointments. Etc.
