Customer Service

Before I get started on my venting... let me just say customer service just seems to not be the same as it used to, although was it really ever that good?

I have been wanting to blog about different incidences that have happened over the past few weeks. But then I thought nah, I won't. Well last night tipped me over the edge. So here I go.

A few weeks ago when we found out our closing date on our house we went and bought all new appliances. This included new washer, dryer, refridgerator, range, microwave, dishwasher. I think that about covers it. So as you can tell by my list we made a somewhat large purchase in my eyes.

The first place we went was Conn's. We went in on a Friday night "bought" everything, or so we thought. Scheduled a delivery date for all the appliances. I get a call on the following Monday evening from the sales rep, he just wanted to make sure the delivery date was correct. Which I hung up the phone and told Phil that was a very odd call, as if I didn't make it clear on Friday night what date I wanted my things delivered. So I blew it off.

Next day we are at the park swinging. I get a call from the same sales rep, he informs me that I am going to need to come in and re-pick out my fridge, washer, and my dryer. I am like WHAT? He says "yes mam, we work on a first come first serve basis." I said yeah I would think that is how it should be, which means that by me purchasing these things this past Friday puts me first. He informs me that over the weekend it just so happens everyone wanted to buy the same things that we did on Friday. I laugh, I am like are you kidding me? This is ridiculous. Mind you he works on commission. So he should have really thought this through before calling me. I tell him to cancel EVERYTHING. I had already spent 2 hours in there on a Friday night picking out everything that we wanted. I was not going to come back and "re-pick" everything. So of course he is very upset because he isn't going to get paid now. I don't feel bad.

So then, the next Friday is moving day. I called on that same Tuesday that I was talking about and reserved a UHAUL. This largest one there is. I asked several times "so the truck will be there at a.m. I don't want to have any issues when I get there. Yes mam it will be here. Ok- so I hang up thinking I have one more thing done!!

Then Friday morning comes along, we get up early and go to pick up the truck. As we are pulling in, I tell Phil I don't see the large truck, all that is there are small trucks. So I am already ticked before ever going in. He tells me that is the only truck there is. I am asking him WHY and al sorts of other questions why Phil is just standing there watching me yell at this man. Then Phil informs me, "he doesn't think he even understands a word that I am saying." So the clerk calls another UHAUL place down the road to see if they have the large truck, they do supposedly. So we go, get a truck, stlll not the one they promised over the phone. But at that point I don't care!!

What is the point in making reservations for something?

Now on to the next thing.....

We went to Lowes the day after we moved in. We purchased all the same items I mentioned earlier. Except thiis time all the items were not in stock. So delivery times have been scattered for these items. We paid to have someone install our dishwasher, but thought we (meaning Phil & Terry) can hook up the gas range.

See a pattern?

Oh wait it stops here...

I got a call from Lowes last Thursday telling me that my range was in and that it would be delivered on Monday sometime.

So I get a call at 7 a.m. Monday morning, which I already thought was a little unprofessional. They should have been able to tell me the 2 hour time frame window before the day of. But whatever....

So they ring the door bell at around 9 a.m. He says I have a range here for ya, I said ok are ya'll going to take this other one and haul it off. (since I was informed that they would) "No mam we can't do that" REALLY ok.

"Do you want me to just put this one in your garage..... SURE since I have no other choice!!!"

I thought about calling and complaining, but then I thought where would it get me? Nowhere.

So I schedule a time for Terry to come out and help Phil switch them out. Last night they changed them out.

After having gone to home depot to buy a few things that they needed, spending their time and evening putting this new range in.... I come out from putting Payton to bed, excited to see my new range...

And I see this...........

I get a little closer and say "this isn't even the right one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe it. So I call Lowes, we won't even get into all that I said. They are going to take care of it for us and bring the new one and install it for free. But----- we have to wait till they find our range. She has no clue where it is and how they delivered us a Whirlpool.

Thanks for listening... I think this is the longest blog I have ever typed!! HaHa! Hope it all makes sense!

Our weekend

Our weekend has been very busy. We woke up bright and early Saturday morning and got started. There are so many things that we want to do to the house, I know that everyone who owns a homes knows that the list is never ending. But realistically you can't get it all done at once, much less in one day. And anyone who knows me, knows that once I get something in my mind I want it done right then. I am trying to get better, but that may take some time considering I have been that way as long as I can remember. But anyways, we did get lots done over the weekend. Phil got just about everything done on his "honey do list." :)

It is hard getting things done with a 6 month old. But really Payton was very good for us all weekend. She doesn't like to be left alone to play, so I would take breaks and sit with her or she would be right there by me while I was doing something.

Just woke up from a nap and looked so cozy on the recliner. She so stinking sweet!!!

Playing with her new piano that Aunt Marla brought over for her. She loves it!!

She doesn't sit up by herself for long periods of time. Today was actually the longest I have ever seen her sit alone. She usually falls straight over. I was surprised that I actually snapped a few shots of the moment.

And she fell.....

And my husband turned into a handy man. He replaced ALL the doorknobs in the whole house.

We bought all new fixtures. This is a picture of the things that need to be done. I will make him a "new" list for next weekend.

Phil and my step dad did hang the new light in the kitchen.

In action

After

They also hung lots of things for me. But this is the main thing that I wanted done. It all looks so nice. My curtains, my mirror, and my sconces.

We are worn out and can't believe the weekend is already gone!! Counting down the days until next weekend to do more stuff.

Being Thankful

At night time when I am rocking Payton it is kind of my quiet time where my mind starts going 90 to nothing thinking about all the things I need to do and how I need to make a list of those things so that I don't forget. Well tonight while I was rocking her I started thinking how lucky I am. I have this beautiful little girl that is healthy, she laughs constantly, she is so happy, she smiles at me all day long, even when I "think" I am having a bad day she looks at me and everything else just doesn't seem to matter anymore. I have this wonderful husband who takes care of me and our daughter. He tries so hard to make me happy and do whatever he needs to do for me and Payton. And at times I take it all for granted. It makes me sad when I think about it. We have had two deaths in our family just since August, and they were both sudden and unexpected. I just started thinking how we never know what is going to happen. I know it is all in Gods plan and I trust in him. I am truly blessed. I have such amazing friends and family. With Thanksgiving around the corner and all the holidays coming up I just wanted to say how blessed and how thankful I really am. Thank you to my husband for always putting up with me and loving me always!
