37 weeks & 2 days
I went to have an ultrasound this afternoon and Payton is still looking good. She is showing to weigh 8lbs 1oz this week, a little over 1/2 pound more than last week. So as you can tell my blood pressure being high is not affecting her growth, which is good of course. They always have me sit in a room for about 10 minutes and monitor Payton's heartbeat to make sure that I am not stressing her out, well today she had fallen asleep, so they had to wake her up with this vibrator type thing. As soon as she buzzed it on my belly I felt Payton jump. I know it doesn't hurt them, but I thought my poor baby!! I am measuring 38 weeks and 2 days along. I go for my check up in the morning and they should check to see if I am dilated any. Also, I will have one more sonogram before she is born, that is if I make it till next Tuesday! Only 2 more weeks to go, if not less!!
These sonogram pictures are getting harder and harder to tell what is what.... but it is her face and hands again. This week her cheeks didn't look as chubby as in the last one!!

Payton is going to be rich!!

Not the day I expected...
Yesterday I had an appointment for my ultrasound to make sure that Payton was still growing well and that there was still enough blood flowing through the umbilical cord. The sonogram was fine Payton looked great as they say, she is showing to weigh 7lbs 7oz. She looks like she has some chubby cheeks and this time she actually had quite a bit of hair. The whole reason of having this sonogram is because of the blood pressure issue that I have had through the pregnancy. Well- they started asking me what my blood pressures have been and I told them and this doctor was not impressed. They checked my blood pressure and it was a bit high. So he calls my doctor and they decide to send me to triage to monitor me for a couple hours and do some lab work. So I think immediately I was kind of freaked out because I thought "am I going to have this baby today??" Which don't get me wrong, I am ready for her and want her here but was hoping she would wait till her daddy gets home. But I know that it is out of my control and what ever is safe and healthy for us is what we will do.
So, I get down to triage they begin to monitor my blood pressures every 15 minutes. Of course they are also monitoring the baby's heart beat as well. The first reading was high, but the nurse says it was because I was lying on my back. So she had me lay on my side the whole time that I was down there and each time they took my blood pressure my mom and I were shocked at how much it had dropped just by me laying there. My blood pressure has never been as low it was in that short amount of time that I was there than it has through my entire pregnancy. Then she took blood to send off and make sure that it was all normal. They were checking my liver enzymes for preclampsia, and it all came back normal. They also checked my urine for protein, which came back normal as well.
Dr. Lombardi came in to see me and he said that he was going to send me home and that he thought I was okay. He said it was good that we are planning to be induced in 3 weeks. We will still plan on that as of now, but know that it could change depending on my blood pressure. I go back on Friday for my regular check up with Dr. Chhutani. Also, I will be having weekly ultrasounds until I have Payton, just to make sure everything is still good.
They told me to try and only lay on my right or left side and avoid lying on my back. Which is something I usually always do, I hardly ever lay directly on my back. If I start to have blurred vision or headaches then I need to call them. And drink lots of water, which I normally do on my own!!
Here is a picture of my chubby cheek baby girl, it's kind of hard to make it out if you aren't familiar with sonogram pictures. :) But you can see her cheeks, her eyes, her nose, her mouth (kind of looks like she is smiling) and she has her hands on her face.

Maternity pictures at 35 weeks...
My sister took my maternity pictures yesterday. She took so many different ones, a lot of them turned out really good. We are still going to take some pictures in the bluebonnets but we have to wait till the weather is better, hopefully this weekend we will get too.
Here are only 3 different pictures, I know there are 6 of them... but that is because each one is in black and white and in color. I loved both and couldn't decide so I thought "hey why not post them both." I will post more later. My sister did such a great job!! (the reason there is a picture of me with the pancakes is because that is what I craved MOST while being pregnant with Payton.)

35 weeks...
I had my checkup today and it went well. Payton's heartbeat is in the 150's. My blood pressure had been doing better since I haven't been working, but the past 2 weeks for some reason it has decided to start to rise again. Therefore, I am going to have another sonogram. I thought the last one I had would be it, but I was wrong. I go on Tuesday to have another one just to check and make sure everything is still good. The doctor said she could tell that Payton was growing and had gotten bigger but just to be on the safe side she wanted another ultrasound. She checked me to see if I was dilated.. I wasn't. My cervix has thinned out some, so I guess it's only a matter of time. A little less than 3 weeks to go and my sweet Miss Payton will bless us with her presences!!

33 week update
Just a quick update... I went to the doctor today for a checkup. Short and sweet... listened to Payton's heartbeat and it was in the 150's. I am measuring a week ahead, but we are still scheduled for April 28th to be induced! 6 more weeks to go!! I can officially say that I am miserable! I am getting more and more excited each day. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks, which I will be 35 weeks and then I will be going weekly from then on.

A Growing baby...
Payton is definitely a growing baby. I went today to have a sonogram just to make sure everything was still okay with her, and it was. She is weighing at an even 5 pounds!! I couldn't believe it, she is so big. I looked at my mom and said "oh my gosh I am going to have a 12 pound baby" and of course she laughed and said no you won't but you will probably at least have a 9 pound baby. Funny, but those were the thoughts going through my mind when they told me how much she weighed. I weighed 7 pounds when I was born and Phil weighed over 10 pounds.
When I first got to the doctor they called me back and I had to go in this room and sit in a chair and they hooked me up to a heart monitor to monitor Payton's heartbeat for 10-15 minutes. There was another lady in the room with me and they were doing the same for her, except her baby was sleeping so they had to use this vibrator type thing to wake her baby up. But not my baby, she was moving around constantly through the whole monitoring process. Once that was done, they took me back to the room and did my usual sonogram. The tech looked at everything and told me how perfect Payton is and how good everything looked. Her heart looked good, her brain, her arms, her legs, her kidneys. She has very little hair, I could actually see it on today's ultrasound. She is in the 61 percentile, which is great. Her heartbeat is 160 bpm.
Then, the actual doctor came in and first thing he says to me is (he laughed as he said this to me) "what have you done to get Dr. Chhutani so worried about you?" Then I laughed and said "not too sure." He then takes a look at everything and once again tells me how perfect everything looked. He then says to me, "you are too healthy to be in here." The baby looks great and everything looks normal. So I took that as this would be my last ultrasound!! I am so glad that even with my blood pressure issue that Payton is still growing and looks to be a really healthy baby!!
Time is really starting to fly by. I have 7 more weeks until my induction date!! Not long at all.... I am getting very anxious!!!!
I posted the picture facing up and down because it is easier to make out this way. It is a picture of her face and her arm is on the left..

Payton's nursery...
I have Payton's nursery just about done. There are still odds and ends that I need to do. I haven't hung up anything on the walls yet either. But the room looks way better than it did. Phil and I bought Payton's furniture back in January. The crib and the dresser we bought from an officer at work, you can't tell it has been used. Then we also purchased the changing table/dresser combo. Her furniture is really nice. My mom and Terry bought all of her bedding and mattress for her crib. And my dad and Kay bought the glider and ottoman. I must say I am pretty impressed with her room, once it is actually organized and completely done it will be very nice. Here are a few pictures.. I guess you could call it "still in progress".....

Thanks to all..
I just wanted to say thank you to all my family and friends that were at my baby shower today! It meant so much to me. I got so many things. I am very grateful to have so many people that care about me and love me! I will post pictures from the shower later. Once I get her room together and complete then I will post pictures of the nursery as well.

Bed rest it is...
I went to the doctor today. We have come to the conclusion that it will be best for mine and Payton's health to be on bed rest the remainder of my pregnancy. Payton is head down, I am hoping she will stay that way. I kind of knew she was from the different movements I have been getting from her. I think now I can tell the difference between a foot, a hand, or a bottom. Her heart rate sounded good as always. I am going for another ultrasound in 3 weeks just to make sure she is still growing properly. I gained 1 pound in the past two weeks so total I have gained 10 pounds. I am very please with that, just means less to lose after I have her. 10 more weeks and our little one will be here with us!! I can't wait!!

Best rest already???
I talked to my doctor today. My blood pressure has gone up the past week. She told me to go ahead and plan on my last day of work being next Tuesday the 17th. I really didn't think that it would be this earlier. But she told me she is being cautious and doesn't want me working the rest of my pregnancy. She said I am treating you the way I would want someone to treat someone in my family. Which was a good thing to hear from your doctor. I still have 10 1/2 weeks till I have her. So this will probably get pretty boring. I would rather be safe than sorry. I just want Payton to be healthy and come when she is ready. It will all be official at my next appointment, which is next Wednesday. She wants me to take my blood pressure twice a day. At my appointment she will look at it and make the "final" decision. She said she would give me all the paperwork on Wednesday to take to work. Therefore, I went ahead and told work and am preparing myself for her to say I will be on bed rest the remainder of my pregnancy.

Two appointments in one week...
I went to the Dr. yesterday to have my growth and hypertension ultrasound. Payton is weighing 2lbs 8oz. She is in the 59 percentile. She was once again putting her hand in her mouth. She also had both feet up by her face, looked as though she was trying to suck her toes. Saturday she was head down, yesterday she was breech. She has some chubby cheeks and she does have some hair on the back of her head. They said everything looked as it should. She is a growing baby!
Today I went to my Dr. for my normal checkup. Payton's heartbeat is 150 bpm. Which is normal. The Dr. is not concerned yet that she is breech. When I get to 32 weeks and if she still hasn't turned then she will be concerned. We talked about bed rest. At this time she is ok with me continuing to work. She said definitely no more than 40 hours of work per week. When I go back in 2 weeks she will reevaluate her decision on bed rest, as she will do from now on. I have a feeling I will be put on bed rest sooner than what I was planning on taking off. But let's hope I can make it at least another 2 months!
Here are a few pictures of her sweet little face

Sneak peek of Payton...
I had my 4-D ultrasound yesterday. It was so amazing to see Payton. She kept her hand on her face most of the time. If she wasn't doing that, then she was sucking her thumb. When she was sucking her thumb we could actually see her chin and mouth moving. It was so neat. She is head down already. I am guessing that is a good thing. We got to see her little feet too. I got a DVD, CD of all the pictures, and then printed pictures. It was well worth the money to have this done. I can not tell who I think she looks like, all I know is she is beautiful! Enjoy the pictures of our precious baby girl!!
She had her mouth open here..

Here are are cute little feet

So precious

Isn't her little nose so cute..

Trying to cover her face

Sucking her thumb

Putting her hand in her mouth

I believe her tongue is sticking out here

Beautiful baby

Glucose results...
I called the doctor today to find out the results of my glucose test. I figured that since I had not heard from them then "no news was good news." But I wanted to make sure! She said that everything came back normal!! I am so relieved. One less thing for me to have to worry about! I moved the growth and hypertension ultrasound up a week, it will be this Tuesday February 3rd at 10:30.

Baby update...
I went to the doctor this morning. Today was my glucose test to be tested for gestational diabetes. I should get the results back within the next two weeks. Everyone had told me how gross the drink is that you have to drink for the test. I actually liked it, tasted like kool-aid to me. They let me pick between orange and fruit punch. I did the fruit punch. Wasn't bad at all. The doctor measured my belly and I am measuring as I should. Payton's heartbeat sounded very strong. I am going to the doctor every two weeks now.

I have had a little bit of blood pressure concern throughout the pregnancy. It had gotten better through my 2nd trimester. But I guess now that I am approaching my 3rd trimester it has decided to go back up. Today at the appointment it was up. Now that we are getting so close to the end it is something that we have to really watch. I am scheduled to go back to the perinatologist doctor (same place I went when I found out we are having a girl) in 3 weeks to have a growth and hypertension ultrasound. My doctor wants me to do this so that we can make sure Payton is getting all the nutrients she is supposed to and growing properly. I was very upset when I left the hospital this morning, something being wrong with her is not something I want to think about. I am sure that every thing is going to be fine. Just a bit of added stress to me, I am going to try not to worry.
I am having my 3D-Ultrasound next Saturday January 31st. My mom, sister, and good friend Kelli are going with me to that. I will post those pictures as soon as I can. We will be able to take a sneak peek at Miss Payton.
Here are a few pictures of me at 25 weeks and 2 days since I do not have any sono pictures to share!

Entering 2009...
The year 2008 was a good year for me. I found out that God will be blessing me with a little girl, a little girl who will change my life forever!! Now entering 2009 is exciting to me because I know that this year I will meet that special gift. This morning about 4 a.m. I got up for one of my regular middle of the night bathroom trips. I came back laid down, still being kind of out of it... I laid on my right side and as I was fixing to fall back asleep I kept filling this constant thump. It was almost uncomfortable, so I switched back to my left side and put my hand on my right side and there the constant thump was. That's when I realized Payton was having hiccups. I know that it is normal for them to have hiccups, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for her and there was nothing I could do for her. Sounds corny, I know. So of course I didn't want to go back to sleep because I love feeling her. So I stayed up until her hiccups finally went away. Her kicks are defiantly getting stronger. The other night once again around 4 a.m. I was watching TV and all of the sudden I felt a hard kick above my belly button. And I thought whoa.. So I put my hand there and she did it like 3 more times. It was so amazing to feel! I love it!! Although I am so excited to meet her and cannot wait to be a mommy to her, I am really going to miss her in my belly after I have her!! Happy New Year to all!!!!
